Job Description - Clinician

Eskasoni Mental Health Services is dedicated to providing culturally appropriate, community based, high-quality mental health and addiction services. We are seeking a clinician with strong clinical skills, and an openness to sharing their creative talents or passions to enhance the well-being of our clients, and our workplace.


 


Responsibilities Include:



  • Provide direct clinical support services, including screening, assessment, intervention and crisis assessment, counseling, therapeutic intervention, consultation, knowledge transfer and treatment services

  • Demonstrate ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and practice within the standards of their licensing and regulatory body

  • Function as a primary therapist within a multidisciplinary team and will also provide consultation on complex cases and training in Evidence-based therapeutic approaches

  • Various research initiatives


 


Requirements:



  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Social Work, and Registered, or eligible to be registered, with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology or the N.S. Social Work Association governing and licensing Board.

  • Experience working with children and youth and/or openness to be trained to provide services to children and youth considered an asset

  • Experience working with autism spectrum disorder considered an asset

  • Ability to speak Mi’kmaq considered an asset

  • Knowledge of Traditional Mi’kmaw approach to Health and Wellness also considered an asset.

  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check

  • Child abuse registry check
