Co-Founder & CEO, New Venture: SaaS Collections Platform

Summary

We are launching a tech company developing a SaaS product that increases performance of financial institutions’ collection operations while providing a humane experience for customers in financial need. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and highly motivated Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer to bring the venture to success.

The candidate will be the ultimate accountable executive for the business. The person will shape and maintain the vision, build a solid team of other executives with some that will be co-founders and drive growth and ensure capital influx.

Please note: This is not an employee opportunity at Diagram Ventures, but in a new company created through our venture studio model. This company will be independent of Diagram Ventures, and the founding team will receive the majority of the equity in the venture.

The Opportunity

Despite most merchants having adopted digital channels for all their communications with consumers, the financial services industry is lagging behind when it comes to their collection process. Most lenders today are still overly, if not exclusively, reliant on call centers to communicate with financially distressed borrowers. Antiquated methods and technology, lack of resources and fear of regulations have kept them away from fully embracing omni-channel communication strategies.

We believe lenders, now more than ever, need to rethink their first-party collections processes. Everyone deserves a better experience.Our newly created venture is leveraging data, analytics and behavioral science to modernize the collection process for lenders.

The CEO should be able to create a positive culture, attract talent, attract enterprise clients in the financial services space and fundraise from reputable VC funds.

Who we are looking for

We are assembling the dream team of entrepreneurs, technologists, and financial services experts, and we are now looking for an accomplished chief executive to lead the entire venture. If you are up for it, you will:

• Build and lead a high caliber team of “A” player early hires
• Quickly establish commercial relationships with lenders (banks, credit unions, fintechs), and create a scalable sales engine over time.
• Provide overall leadership to the organization, working across all aspects and functions of the business (product, marketing, sales, tech, finance, etc.)
• Lead the fundraising efforts in collaboration with the founding team and investors
• Work closely with the investors/board

Background and experience:

• Track-record of leading a business as a CEO, President, COO, Product Executive, or GM with P&L ownership within an organization
• Experience leading an organization developing enterprise SaaS products
• Strong experience in the financial services industry, ideally in credit/lending
• Experience raising venture capital

Other desirable assets:

• Experience being founder/co-founder or early hire in a venture backed company
• Familiar with debt collections processes and applying regulations in the US.
