Reporting directly to the Commercial Maintenance Manager, the Commercial Maintenance Labourer is responsible to perform manual work for routine commercial maintenance of various building grounds.
The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of CILTD, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.
This is a full-time seasonal hourly position is based on working up to 12 hours per day or night and may include weekends. Work schedule is subject to be revised at any time in order to meet Company/Client requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform commercial maintenance activities under the direction and supervision of the Grounds Maintenance Team Lead;
Operate various types of tools and equipment in a safe and productive manner;
Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors;
Mowing, Trimming, Aerating, Debris Removal;
Operate and maintain Grounds Maintenance Equipment;
Read blueprints and drawings;
Maintain work records and logs;
Transport maintenance materials;
Report all incidents, damages and near-misses immediately;
Work cohesively with teams of employees or contractors;
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner; and,
Other relatable duties as required.
Requirements
Grade twelve (12) Diploma or General Educational Diploma ‘GED’ equivalency is required;
Minimum two (2) years of relatable experience as a labourer in the commercial maintenance industry is required;
Valid Class 5 (Full) Alberta Driver’s License, along with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience is required;
Providing a clean three (3) year Driver's Abstract is required prior;
Experience driving a truck trailer combination, load securement and loading/offloading equipment from trailers is required;
Must be able to work in all weather conditions;
Own reliable mode of transportation to and from work is required;
Ability to identify hazards and complete risk assessments;
Proven ability to operate and maintain Commercial Maintenance equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
Proven ability to follow direction, work independently and as part of a team;
Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various grounds maintenance work tasks;
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize job responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment;
Attention to detail and reliability in recording and documenting;
Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships with supervision and clients;
Must have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English; and,
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
