  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction practices, and applicable codes

  • Proven ability to oversee multiple large-scale commercial projects in excess of 20 million dollars

  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control

  • Experience in design-build environments is an asset

  • PMP certification is an asset

  • Journeyman Plumber or HVAC certification is an asset

  • Has experience in leading a high growth environment and change management.

And who can manage these responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Oversight: Provide direction, mentorship, hiring, coaching, and performance management for Project Managers, Supervisors, and administrative staff while developing divisional goals, communicating expectations, and building accountability through KPIs.

  • Operational Management: Oversee project execution from conceptual development through completion, ensuring scopes, schedules, milestones, and administrative processes (change orders, billing, coding, collections) are managed efficiently and in alignment with company standards.

  • Financial Performance: Oversee divisional financials including budgets, forecasting, labour productivity, cost controls, and profitability, working closely with accounting and finance to develop KPIs and communicate financial performance to staff.

  • Strategic Planning: Support business growth initiatives, resource planning, and process improvements within the commercial division, while driving continuous improvement and sustainable growth.

  • Client Relations: Act as the primary relationship contact for key clients and external partners, actively pursue new business in collaboration with the Client Alignment Manager, and maintain consistent communication regarding service quality, workload, and overall satisfaction.

  • Scheduling & Resource Allocation: Ensure appropriate staffing and resource planning across all commercial projects, aligning personnel, workload, and divisional capacity with strategic objectives.

  • Compliance & Safety: Hold construction and administration teams accountable for meeting safety standards, regulatory requirements, quality expectations, and contractual obligations.

  • Procurement & Vendor Relations: Oversee material purchasing through the administrative team, ensuring appropriate cost controls while maintaining strong supplier relationships that support divisional profitability.
