The Communications Administrator supports the Communications and Community Relations team by coordinating communications, engagement activities and administrative processes across the organization. This role works collaboratively with internal teams to gather information, develop clear communication materials, support events and engagement initiatives and help ensure communications are consistent with YWCA Calgary’s mission, vision, values and brand.
This role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday with some occasional evening and weekend work required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work with internal program and support areas to gather current information and develop communication materials, including communication plans, organizational updates, digital content, external engagement materials, presentations and media-related materials
Support ongoing communication and engagement for the YWCA Board Alumni (ALLY) program
Partner with the Community Engagement team to support communications, customer service and engagement with current and prospective rental customers and fitness members
Ensure all communication and engagement activities are consistent with YWCA Calgary’s mission, vision, values and brand
Collaborate with the Community Engagement team on administrative and communication projects that support consistent, streamlined processes for rental customers and fitness members
Support customer management processes, including invoicing, receipting, customer and member database management, and related communications
Work with the Communications and Community Relations team to support internal and external events
Provide coordination and administrative support for internal and external communications, volunteer management and engagement activities
Collaborate with internal teams to develop event plans and communications that support effective event delivery
Partner with both Communications and Brand and Marketing teams to create graphics, content and scripting for event promotion and activation, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree, diploma or certificate in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Administration, Event Management or a related field
One to three years of relevant experience in communications, administration, customer service, community engagement, events, brand, marketing or a related area
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally with employees, community members, customers, volunteers and external partners
Demonstrated writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear, accessible materials for different audiences
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workflows and adapt to changing organizational needs
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with SharePoint, customer databases, CRM software or similar systems is considered an asset
