About You:

Responsibilities

  • Maintain subject matter expertise of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Gain a deep understanding of business processes and procedures
  • Take a risk-based approach to reviewing and auditing various components of the business in accordance with the company’s risk appetite
  • Work collaboratively with all business lines to conduct reviews and recommend areas of opportunity
  • Produce effective reporting on reviews conducted
  • Ensure preventative and detective controls are effective and applicable over time
  • Use business acumen to help problem solve and be a valuable member of not just the compliance team, but the business teams being supported
  • Partner with the business on new projects, providing guidance, insights, and effective challenge, as appropriate
  • Be a team player who is willing to wear multiple hats!

Requirements

  • Post secondary education required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a compliance, legal, accounting, analytics, or risk role
  • Proven track record of working successfully with senior management in an impactful and influential capacity
  • Sound judgment and business acumen
  • Creative problem-solving skills, and comfort in navigating ambiguous situations and complex problems
  • Strong attention to detail and project management/organizational skills
  • Proven ability to lead and influence through strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment an asset
  • Proactive, motivated, and able to multitask
