Description

Sunbury Transport and RST Industries are looking for a Compliance Specialist to support safe, compliant, and audit-ready transportation operations across Canada and the United States. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with transportation, safety, compliance, operations, driver administration, or maintenance records experience who enjoys working with systems, records, audits, and follow-up processes.



Responsibilities
  • Oversee and verify driver qualification, training, license, abstract, medical, inspection, maintenance, permit, and compliance records.
  • Review hours of service and ELD records, identify gaps, and coordinate follow-up for Canadian and U.S. operations.
  • Maintain the legal register of applicable permits, licenses, operating authorities, and transportation-related requirements needed to support operations within Transport Canada and FMCSA guidelines.
  • Support audit preparation, corrective action tracking, incident documentation, and compliance reporting.
  • Work with HSSE, operations, maintenance, HR, training, drivers, and owner-operators to support consistent compliance practices.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready records in approved company systems.


Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in transportation, occupational health and safety, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in transportation compliance, fleet safety, dispatch, driver administration, operations support, maintenance records, audits, or a related motor carrier role.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. transportation compliance requirements, including NSC, FMCSA, Transport Canada, HOS, ELD, driver qualification, permits, licenses, inspections, and maintenance compliance.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, confidentiality, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work with compliance data, trackers, reports, audit evidence, corrective actions, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and ability to learn transportation compliance and safety management systems.
  • Experience with ELD, LMS, incident reporting, transportation management, driver risk, or safety management systems.
  • Exposure to bulk, tanker, dangerous goods, flatbed, van, intermodal, cross-border, or specialized transportation operations.
  • Transportation safety or compliance training such as CDS, CDT, CTSP, OHS, TDG, or equivalent training.
