Compound Attendant

We are seeking a reliable and friendly Compound Attendant to join our team at Astro Towing.

Safety, well-being, and community support are at the core of everything we do. The Compound Attendant is responsible for assisting customers with accessing and retrieving their vehicles and ensuring the maintenance of our compound facilities. This position works predominantly outdoors, regardless of the weather. Success in this position requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, comfort with basic vehicle maintenance, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

While we operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, this position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, and is scheduled between the hours of 8:00 am and 6:30 pm.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers at the front counter in a friendly and courteous manner.
  


• Clearly communicate procedures for accessing vehicles in the compound to customers.
  


• Escort customers through the yard to access or pick up their vehicles.
  


• Move customer vehicles around within the compound when needed to facilitate retrieval.
  


• Ensure proper documentation is present when releasing vehicles and all company policies and processes are adhered to.
  


• Assist customers with vehicle needs, such as providing a battery boost or inflating a tire with air, to ensure a positive experience.
  


• Oversee the Ident Bay to ensure vehicles stored are related to SPS files, and communicate with the Compound Coordinator when the bay is becoming close to capacity for follow-up.
  


• Review daily reports of all vehicles that arrive overnight; check them for any open windows, close the windows or tarp any that need to be addressed, record which vehicles require attention, and communicate to management.
  


• Provide the Compound Coordinator with missing vehicle details, such as license plate numbers, VINs, and photos as needed.
  


• Other duties as assigned or required.
  

Competencies Required

• Must hold and maintain a Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license and have an acceptable driver’s abstract.
  


• Enjoy assisting customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  


• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clear interactions with customers and team members.
  


• Confident and capable in performing tasks like boosting vehicle batteries and inflating tires to support customer needs.
  


• Ensure tasks are completed timely, accurately, and efficiently.
  


• Embraces teamwork and is always willing to help colleagues.
  


• Able to handle physically demanding tasks, including walking, standing, and lifting, as required by the role.
  


• Remains calm and professional when addressing customer concerns, resolving issues efficiently.
