WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Concrete Finisher / Form Setter, you will be responsible for:

• Installing and setting concrete forms, granular base, and reinforcing steel.


• Preparing sites and placing concrete according to project specifications and grade requirements.


• Finishing concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.


• Operating concrete vibrators and other equipment to ensure proper compaction.


• Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other embedded components.


• Repairing, resurfacing, and restoring existing concrete structures.


• Applying curing, sealing, waterproofing, and damp-proofing products.


• Performing saw cutting and concrete remediation work.


• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.


• Conducting quality control checks before, during, and after concrete pours.


• Protecting fresh concrete from changing weather conditions.


• Working safely around underground utilities and active construction sites.


• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.


• Participating in safety meetings and adhering to company safety standards.


• Travelling to various project sites within the Edmonton region.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Minimum 2 years of concrete finishing and form setting experience.


• Experience with curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and flatwork.


• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.


• Strong understanding of concrete placement, finishing, and curing techniques.


• Valid Class 5 Driver's License & clean drivers abstract.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• Willingness to work overtime and extended hours during peak construction periods.

Assets

• Grouting experience.


• Ground Disturbance certification.


• Standard First Aid certification.


• Experience working around underground utilities.


• Experience estimating materials and project requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

 This is a physically demanding position that requires:

• Lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs).


• Standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling, and repetitive movements for extended periods.


• Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.


• Working in dusty and noisy environments.


• Meeting production schedules and project deadlines.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

 Successful candidates must possess:

• Valid Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.


• CSTS 2020 certification (required).


• Commitment to following all company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
