Job Description - Constable - Strike Force (INTERNAL ONLY) 2026/27
The Strike Force team is a multi-disciplinary covert unit that provides surveillance support, intelligence, and targeted enforcement. Strike Force works independently and collaborates with other VicPD investigational units to accomplish investigational goals and objectives. Strike Force also works in partnership with external investigational and enforcement units including Municipal and Provincial Police agencies, the RCMP, CBSA, United States Border Protection and other international enforcement agencies.
Job Description:
Conduct covert surveillance and undercover operations while working a varied schedule including flexible hours and extended duty
Must be reasonably available for call out where an operational need exists
Conduct CDSA, Firearms, Organized Crime and other criminal investigations
Gather intelligence through the use of confidential informers
Work closely with the Operations Council, AIS, CSD, and ISD in support of operational and investigational priorities at VicPD
Liaise and collaborate with external enforcement agencies and special teams
Serve as a drug expert. Write expert opinions, provide testimony in court and provide VicPD training and community presentations.
Basic Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment; committed to achieving team goals and objectives
Self-motivated and a proactive driver of police investigations
Excels in high stress situations
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressure
Demonstrated ability to recruit and handle confidential informers
Demonstrated experience preparing a wide variety of judicial applications
Demonstrated Primary Investigator skills and experience investigating CDSA and Property Crime offences
Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing exhibits and controlled substances
Preferred Qualifications:
Covert Surveillance training & experience
Experienced Drug Expert, or willingness to develop and work as a court certified drug expert
Undercover Operator, BCMUP Level II
Foundational understanding of Major Case Management principles
Familiarity with Civil Forfeiture Program and processes
