Job Description - Construction Litigation Associate (3-7 Years)

Singleton Reynolds is Canada’s leading construction and infrastructure law firm. With offices in Toronto and Vancouver, we advise and represent owners, contractors, insurers, professionals, and public sector clients on some of the country’s most complex and significant construction, infrastructure, and commercial disputes. Our firm is nationally recognized for its depth of expertise, collaborative culture, and commitment to excellence.

Due to continued growth, we expect to make more than one hire and welcome applications from lawyers with approximately 3–7 years of experience. Exceptional candidates outside this range will also be considered.

The Opportunity

We are seeking talented litigators to join our Toronto office and become part of one of Canada’s premier construction and infrastructure practices.

Associates in our group work directly with experienced partners and clients on a broad range of matters, including:

  • Construction liens and trust claims

  • Delay, schedule, and performance disputes

  • Procurement and tendering issues

  • Professional liability and negligence claims

  • Adjudications, arbitrations, mediations, and court proceedings

  • Large infrastructure, commercial, institutional, and residential projects

Our associates are given meaningful responsibility, significant client exposure, and opportunities to develop as advocates and trusted advisors.

About You

You:

  • Are called to the Ontario Bar

  • Have approximately 3–7 years of litigation experience

  • Possess strong analytical, advocacy, and drafting skills

  • Enjoy solving complex legal and business problems

  • Are motivated to build lasting client relationships

  • Thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Are interested in developing a long-term career within a growing national firm

Construction law experience is an asset but is not essential for candidates with strong litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in the sector.

Our Culture and Values

We believe exceptional legal work is built on strong relationships.

Our lawyers work in a highly collaborative environment where associates are encouraged to take ownership of their careers, contribute meaningfully to client service, and participate in the continued growth of the firm.

We value:

  • Collegiality and teamwork

  • Practical, business-focused advice

  • Continuous learning and professional development

  • Respect, inclusion, and professionalism

  • Long-term career growth and mentorship

We are committed to providing lawyers with meaningful work, direct mentorship, opportunities for advancement, and the support necessary to build sustainable and rewarding careers.

Why Singleton Reynolds

  • Canada’s leading construction and infrastructure law platform

  • Sophisticated and nationally significant matters

  • Direct partner access and mentorship

  • Meaningful client contact and responsibility

  • Competitive compensation and benefits

  • Flexible work arrangements

  • Strong commitment to professional development

  • Long-term career opportunities within a growing firm

Compensation Range: $180,000 - $275,000 annually. Salary will be negotiated based on experience.
