Duties
Monitors and advises Asset and Project Management Teams, in: monitoring projects/site compliance with the applicable Safety and Heath Acts, Regulations and Project Safety Plan; develops schedules to conduct safety and health site surveys; identifies hazards; unsafe working conditions or training/retraining requirements; advises of corrective action required; recommends accountability controls; and monitors compliance and take appropriate action to stop work practices.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives
EXPERIENCE
- *Significant experience in providing advice and guidance to various stakeholders with respect to federal or provincial/territorial occupational health and safety legislation, regulations or standards.
- Experience in monitoring construction sites for compliance with federal or provincial/territorial, occupational health and safety legislation, regulations, guidelines, codes or standards.
*Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities related to the work.

DEPENDING ON THE POSITION BEING STAFFED, ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ASSET QUALIFICATIONS MAY ALSO BE DEEMED AS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND ONLY CANDIDATES AND PERSONS WITH A PRIORITY ENTITLEMENT WHO POSSESS THOSE QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THAT SPECIFIC VACANCY. PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU POSSESS ANY OF THE FOLLOWING IN YOUR APPLICATION:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary certification program in Occupational Health and Safety- (OHS) with emphasis on construction health and safety
- Recognized Post-secondary degree or diploma with a specialization in building sciences (architectural, mechanical, electrical, civil) supplemented by coursework in occupational health and safety.
- Construction Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Certificate or related Health and Safety Professional designation (certification or eligibility for certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and/or equivalent).
- Successful completion of the training requirements for: Construction Health and Safety Officer Certification (CHSO) / Construction Safety Supervisor (CSS)
- Certification, or eligibility for certification, as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional.
- Experience in coordination of construction industry projects for safe practices, procedures and worksite conditions.
- Experience in working on multi-disciplinary project teams in a construction related setting.
- Experience in developing and delivering presentations, training sessions and information sessions
