As Construction Safety Manager, you will lead health and safety across Southwest Construction's active projects while supporting the continued development of health and safety programs across the Southwest Properties group of companies.

This role is instrumental in ensuring our construction teams, trade partners, and project leaders work safely, comply with legislative requirements, and foster a culture where safety is integrated into every phase of construction. In addition to leading safety on our projects, you will contribute to the ongoing enhancement of corporate health and safety initiatives that support our broader organization.

What Your Day Will Look Like
You will provide leadership for all aspects of construction health and safety across Southwest Construction's active projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams, you will ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation, company standards, and industry best practices.
While construction safety will be your primary focus, you will also support the continued development, implementation, and administration of health and safety programs across the Southwest Properties group of companies. Your practical construction experience will help strengthen safety programs that support our property management, operations, and corporate teams.
You will work collaboratively with senior leadership and operational teams to continuously improve safety performance, reduce organizational risk, and promote a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.
Hours of Work: Full-time day hours Monday to Friday, with occasional evening, weekend, and after-hours commitments as operational needs require.
Work Location: Southwest Properties Main Office, with regular travel to active construction sites and company properties throughout the portfolio.

This role operates primarily from active construction sites, with additional responsibilities performed at the Southwest Properties Main Office and other company locations.
The successful candidate will regularly work in both office and field environments and should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions, around active construction activities, and in environments involving noise, dust, and other typical construction site conditions.

Our ideal candidate has post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related discipline, combined with 5–7 years of progressive health and safety experience in the construction industry.
National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification and/or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is considered an asset.
