Construction Safety Officer (CSO)

We are currently hiring experienced Construction Safety Officers (CSOs) for temporary assignments on construction sites. The CSO will be responsible for promoting and enforcing a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and supporting site teams in maintaining high safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor job sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct regular site inspections and hazard assessments
• Identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions
• Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Ensure all workers are following proper safety procedures and wearing required PPE
• Maintain safety documentation, reports, and incident records
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents, and provide recommendations
• Coordinate with site supervisors and management on safety matters
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC and other applicable regulations

Requirements:

• Valid Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification (required)
• Previous experience as a CSO on construction sites
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and procedures
• Experience conducting site inspections and safety audits
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to enforce safety standards in a professional manner
• Proficient in completing safety reports and documentation
• Valid First Aid certification (preferred or required depending on site)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Steel-toe boots and required PPE
• Reliable transportation to various job sites

Work Conditions:

• Temporary and on-call assignments

• Day shifts, with occasional overtime

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly wage based on experience and certification
• Weekly pay
