Consultant, Communications

Description and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is ambitious, autonomous, professional and eager to help turn ideas into action. As a member of our growing Communications team, you won’t just be watching the health care landscape change; you’ll be helping us shape it. This hybrid Consultant role, based in our Toronto office, is designed for an individual with proven experience in communications planning and media relations who is ready to provide comprehensive white-glove service to our clients.

Responsibilities Include:

• Supporting accounts and the senior client lead, including driving project management, ensuring ongoing support, communication, development of workplans, and fulfilment of deliverables at a high level of quality and timeliness.


• Drafting highly polished  communications materials ranging from presentations, plans, blog posts, op-eds, news releases, media pitches, social media content, briefing notes and more.


• Developing differentiated public relations strategies and tactical plans for clients.


• Interacting with clients and prospective clients, media, partner agencies, and colleagues to build and maintain relationships.


• Confidently leading meetings, presentations and sessions, as required.


• Identifying and responding to or leveraging emerging and evolving issues and opportunities for clients and Santis.


• Supporting proposal responses and other business development opportunities.

A Great Candidate Would Have a Combination of These Skills and Qualifications:

• A degree or diploma in communications, public relations or a related field. 


• Minimum two years of related work experience, with previous consulting / agency experience considered a requirement. 


• Experience developing and executing on communications campaigns, adhering to quality, time and budget standards.


• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and problem solve in the face of uncertainty


• Demonstrated ability to work  with multiple stakeholders, internal and external clients


• Strong skills in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the Google Suite.


• Proficiency in leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity and workflows, while maintaining a strong understanding of AI ethics, data privacy, and the importance of fact-checking and human review.


• Demonstrated experience with developing/delivering organic and paid digital strategies, influencer campaigns and working with digital analytics considered strong assets.


• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the delivery of slides and presentations.


• Exceptional organizational skills – ability to juggle multiple clients and projects and competing deadlines on a daily basis.


• Skilled in priority-setting, efficient time-management and working independently.


• Great attention to detail and problem-solving skills.


• High degree of discretion and professionalism.
