This employment opportunity is restricted to residents of Iqaluit only.

Reporting to the Manager, Nunavut Dental Clinics, the Coordinator Dental Clinic Resource Equipment Management (Coordinator) will assist in the coordination of facility maintenance, equipment inventory, and lifecycle management of all dental clinics in Nunavut. In total, there are 30 dental clinics located in different communities across the three regions. Dental Clinics are located within Community Health Centres, Community Schools, and/or a stand-alone clinic. Each clinic is a fully equipped dental suite, the Coordinator will coordinate regular inspections, inventory audits and a robust and sustainable maintenance program.

The Coordinator’s main responsibilities are but are not limited to: 

  • monitoring lease agreements for dental clinics located in externally leased facilities;

  • Completing site visits to each dental clinic on a regular cycle as established by the Manager; 

  • Providing inspection reports of clinics to the Manger that will inform and assist in information shared with the Community Services department to ensure timely review and/or renewal of dental clinic space;

  • Working with Regional Dental Coordinators and Community Oral Health Coordinators to ensure all dental clinics are being maintained and regular reporting of facility coordinators and equipment and supply requirements are submitted;

  • Ensuring each dental clinic supplies meet yearly requirements, and that user inventory/report form is in place to obtain reporting on equipment conditions, supply inventory levels and facility repair needs;

  • Implementing and maintaining a master inventory equipment list;

  • Following Government of Nunavut procurement and expenditure processes.

     

The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job are usually acquired through a recognized diploma in a health-related field, business administration or related field, plus two (2) years’ experience in a dental or related field including inventory and facility management. Experience working in a rural and/or remote northern communities is an asset.  This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

The Official Languages of Nunavut are Inuktut, English and French. Applicants may submit their resume in any of the official languages of Nunavut. Fluency in more than one of Nunavut’s official languages would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Inuit communities, culture, land,Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Inuktut and experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment are also considered assets.
