  • Support early career initiatives for students and youth to prepare them for future employment within Mikisew Group or its Partnerships.

 Community & Partnership Engagement

  • Build trust and consistent engagement with MCFN membership, acting as a visible resource and accessible connector.

  • Work with Partnerships to create referral pathways and align candidate readiness with business needs.

  • Attend community and partnership events (career fairs, trade shows, school visits) to connect members with opportunities.

Program Alignment & Reporting

  • Track and report on Indigenous employment outcomes, with an emphasis on MCFN member referrals and participation.

  • Support the VP, People & Culture in aligning workforce initiatives with shareholder and partner commitments.

  • Share success stories, lessons learned, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Career Development, Indigenous Studies, or related field (a combination of education and experience, with a demonstrable record of success in such a role, may be considered)

  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct HR Advisory-level or Student placement/support/practicum experience. Preference will be given to those with a background in Trades and/or Apprenticeships fields.

  • Strong organization, communication, and presentation skills, and experience with Microsoft Suite of programs

  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

  • Familiarity with safety (HSMS) and/or Human Resource (HRIS) software programs

  • Professionalism, consistency of approach and ability to relate to all levels within the company

  • Familiarity with Mikisew Cree First Nation (MCFN) shareholder structure and its role in Mikisew Group’s operations.

  • Comfortable traveling between remote worksites and community settings to act as a visible connector.

  • Acts as a trusted steward of MCFN member information, balancing confidentiality with reporting needs to leadership.
