Job Description - Coordinator, People and Culture - Legal Talent - Contract (14 Months)

We are seeking a Coordinator, People and Culture – Legal Talent to join our team on a 14-month contract. This role is central to delivering a smooth onboarding experience for our legal professionals and supporting key talent processes across the firm.


Key Responsibilities:


Recruitment Support



  • Assist with full-cycle associate recruitment, including:

    • Coordinating national interviews.

    • Preparing and sending offer letters as directed.

    • Initiating reference checks and background security processes.

    • Tracking recruitment progress in the applicant tracking system (ATS).




Onboarding & Integration



  • Manage all steps of onboarding for lateral hires, from offer acceptance to orientation:

    • Collect and circulate signed documentation internally.

    • Coordinate client/matter conflict checks with Risk Management.

    • Obtain Law Society information and process related forms.

    • Communicate with Finance, IT, Office Services, Marketing and other teams for ID/billing, website bio, technology and office setup.

    • Facilitate introductions and provide onboarding questionnaires and materials.

    • Act as the main point of contact for new hires, addressing questions and ensuring a smooth transition.




Orientation & Training



  • Work with Learning and People&Culture teams to:

    • Schedule orientation sessions and training modules (technology, finance, marketing, library, etc.).

    • Prepare welcome announcements and gifts.

    • Facilitate HCM set up and association memberships.

    • Coordinate check-in meetings post-onboarding.




Performance Review Administration



  • Support the national associate review process through the HCM System:

    • Monitor completion rates and follow up for feedback.

    • Prepare reports and provide technical support.




Other Responsibilities



  • Assist with practice specialty transfers and leadership updates.

  • Collect exit interview data and execute departure protocols to ensure smooth transitions.

  • Other duties as required.


What you’ll bring:



  • Diploma/Degree specializing in Human Resources or equivalent experience in a Coordinator role.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a law firm environment.

  • Proven analytical skills and demonstration of sound judgment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple demands.

  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills.

  • Diplomacy, discretion and a team-oriented, flexible approach.

  • Ability to work across multiple time zones.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of DayForce is an asset.

  • French language proficiency is an asset.

Compensation:


We offer a market-leading total rewards package with the expected range of the annual salary to be between $58,980 to $77,606.


The final salary is influenced by the location of the incumbent and may fluctuate based on the qualifications, skills, and market considerations, ensuring alignment with internal and external pay equity standards.
