Job Description - Coordinator, Whistler Facilities

Through the support of our national and provincial partners, our team of sport scientists and medical experts provides programs and services to athletes and coaches, ensuring they have every advantage to win medals for Canada. CSI Pacific operates across three campus locations - Victoria, Vancouver, and Whistler - with funding provided by the Province of BC, viaSport, Own the Podium, Sport Canada, the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Canadian Paralympic Committee, and the Coaching Association of Canada. 


 


CSI Pacific’s sport performance expertise is delivered by expert sport scientists and technical staff in partnership  with the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network (COPSIN) nationally and with the viaSport Regional Alliance, which includes PacificSport Centres, provincially. By collaborating with our regional, provincial, and national sport partners, we are strengthening the sport system in British Columbia. Through these partnerships, CSI Pacific is well positioned as a national leader in Powering Performance and Inspiring Excellence, from the regional level to the international podium.



PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: 


The Coordinator, Whistler Facilities role is a part-time hourly position to address administrative and facility needs in the CSI Pacific Whistler campus. This role requires 20 hours of both scheduled and flexible hours per week. Reporting to the General Manager, Communications and Operations (Victoria campus), and Lead, Strength and Conditioning (Whistler campus) role will work close with CSI Pacific Whistler Staff, and other CSI Pacific staff who work, from time to time, in the CSI Pacific Whistler Campus.


 


REPORTS TO: 


General Manager, Communications and Operations (Administration)
Lead, Strength & Conditioning (Facility Operations)


 


KEY DELIVERABLES & DUTIES: 


Facility Operations:



  • Equipment maintenance and facility cleaning at High Performance Training Centre, Physiology Lab at Whistler Olympic Park, and CSI Pacific townhouse



  • Coordinate scheduling of CSI Pacific spaces  



  • Coordinate facility access and equipment sign out  



  • Equipment maintenance and facility cleaning

    • Collect Garbage/Recyling materials

    • Sweep and mop floors

    • Dust and sanitize surfaces, including all gym equipment

    • Hydrotherapy room

      • Sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces

      • Hot/Cold tub maintenance







  • Townhouse Maintenance

    • Deep clean 1x per month (approx. 3-4 hours)




Administration: 



  • Inventory and update on CSI Pacific assets and consumables  



  • Update scheduling of future events / camps / or interaction  



  • Monitor, update and support CSI Pacific procedure as required (Sign in / Sign out / email / calendars etc.) 

  • Support athlete and coach enrollment procedures  



  • Attend CSI Pacific meetings where necessary  



  • Support implementation of CSI Pacific events, where necessary  

  • Support CSI Communications with photo and video capture, where necessary



  • Monitor duties tasked through human resources management system (Bamboo)  


 


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 


REQUIRED: 



  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • BC driver's license

  • First Aid & CPR (CSI Pacific is willing to support certification after hire for the right individual)


DESIRABLE: 



  • Experience working in high-performance sport and/or gym environments


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 


REQUIRED: 



  • Knowledge of the high performance sport environment in Canada 



  • Awareness of safe sport policy and behaviours 



  • Ability to coordinate, communicate and make decisions effectively in a self-driven manner 


DESIREABLE: 



  • Bi-lingual speaker would be considered an asset 


 


WORKING ENVIRONMENT: 


This role requires non-regular working hours. Ideally, the candidate would be able to work from 4pm - 8pm each day. There is room for flexibility around these hours for the right candidate.
