We currently have a role as a Corporate Lawyer - Auto Manufacturing with our multinational EV manufacturing client.

Location: North York, ON
Salary: $175,000 - $225,000 (total comp range) based on experience. Some flexibility in the total comp plan can be made for a senior level candidate.

We are helping organizations transition to sustainable transportation through innovative electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. We are seeking a knowledgeable and client-focused EV Charging Specialist to support the design, deployment, and management of EV charging infrastructure projects for our EV manufacturing client in North York.

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Lawyer with expertise in automotive manufacturing to provide strategic legal guidance across complex business operations and regulatory matters.
Position Summary
The Corporate Lawyer – Automotive Manufacturing will provide legal counsel and business support related to manufacturing operations, commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, supply chain management, labor matters, procurement, and corporate transactions within the automotive industry. The ideal candidate combines strong corporate/commercial law experience with deep knowledge of automotive manufacturing environments, supplier ecosystems, and industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements including:
supplier agreements
procurement contracts
manufacturing agreements
logistics and distribution contracts
licensing and technology agreements
NDAs and service agreements
Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks associated with manufacturing operations, production, sourcing, and supply chain activities.
Support automotive compliance matters including:
safety regulations
environmental standards
import/export requirements
labor and employment compliance
ESG and sustainability initiatives
Provide legal guidance on disputes, warranty claims, recalls, and product liability matters.
Partner with procurement, operations, engineering, HR, and executive leadership teams to support strategic initiatives.
Support mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring activities.
Monitor changes in automotive industry legislation and regulatory frameworks.
Coordinate with external counsel on litigation, regulatory inquiries, and specialized legal matters.
Assist with intellectual property protection, licensing, and technology commercialization initiatives.
Develop and improve internal legal processes, templates, and compliance programs.
Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD/LLB) from an accredited law school.
Licensed and in good standing with the applicable provincial/state bar or law society.
7+ years of corporate/commercial legal experience.
Direct experience supporting automotive manufacturing, OEMs, Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, or industrial manufacturing organizations.
Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
Knowledge of automotive regulatory frameworks, supply chain risk, and manufacturing operations.
Experience with product liability, warranty, and compliance matters.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously while balancing business priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting EV manufacturing, battery technology, or advanced mobility initiatives.
Familiarity with international manufacturing operations and cross-border transactions.
Experience working in-house within automotive or industrial manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of trade compliance, customs, and international procurement regulations.
Bilingual English/Mandarin considered an asset
