PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Crew Dispatcher you will communicate with Train & Engine (T&E) employees to appropriate assignments while ensuring the timely and cost-effective deployment of crews to meet operational requirements

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Interpret and apply the applicable provisions of the T&E collective agreements


• Enter data into the various computer applications such as, but not limited to, Crew Management Application (CMA), Nexus, Auto Crew Caller and Microsoft Office


• Make business decisions based on priorities established by the Operations Centre (OC)


• Answer any inquiries from employees


• Maintain Crew Management Application records


• Monitor T&E maximum hour clock and mandatory time on duty and rest rules


• Be accountable for the proficient handling of other related tasks as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency


• Previous dispatcher or call center experience would be considered an asset


• Ability to work with minimum supervision and can make decision under stressful situations


• Strong written and verbal communication/comprehension


• Desire to work in a challenging environment


• Ability to work in a team environment


• Bilingual (French and English) considered an asset


• This position is staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, therefore shift work and weekend work are required


• Ability to be flexible with changing work schedules
