Position Summary
Job Type: Casual / on-call
Hours of Work: Generally between 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday; some hours outside this range may be required.
Reporting to: Territorial Stewardship Manager
Department: Lands & Natural Resources
The Culture & Heritage Technician has the responsibility to monitor works to identify archaeological and cultural sites and materials such as shell deposits, undiscovered burial sites, artifacts, and cultural materials. The Culture & Heritage Technician uses GIS technology to record site locations and characteristics of any cultural materials discovered in order to protect these important sites and uphold Tla’amin’s Culture and Heritage Law (2016).
Key Responsibilities
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Tla’amin laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures as directed by the Territorial Stewardship Manager or any other such person designated by the Employer. Maintains confidentiality as required pertaining to Citizens, clients, employees, and general matters of the Nation.

Working Conditions
Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions as field work makes up most of the job tasks. Field visits may involve travel via helicopter, driving to a site by road, and/or possible marine transportation to sites within Tla’amin Nation giǰɛ (lands/territory).
Adherence to all safe work practices and procedures is required.
