The Welcome Centre Customer Service Representative (CSR) is the first point of contact for prospective and current students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members. As a key member of the Welcome Centre team, this role delivers welcoming, knowledgeable, and student-centered service across multiple channels.
The CSR provides information, triages inquiries, connects guests to the right resources, and supports recruitment, engagement, and special events. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, sound judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to exceptional service and student success.
How you'll contribute
- Deliver welcoming, professional, and student-centered service across phone, online and in-person service channels, providing information, triaging inquiries, and connecting individuals with the appropriate resources.
- Support prospective and current students throughout their journey by providing accurate guidance, resolving concerns, and escalating complex issues as needed.
- Contribute to recruitment, engagement, and student experience initiatives, including campus tours, orientation, open houses, convocation, events, and Welcome Centre pop-ups.
- Support maintaining accurate records, reporting and operational data collection.
- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of SAIT programs, services, processes, policies, and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) requirements to ensure accurate and compliant information sharing.
- Collaborate with colleagues across SAIT to deliver seamless service, support student success, and ensure effective referrals.
- Model collaboration and service excellence by supporting the onboarding, training, and mentorship of new team members, student ambassadors, practicum students, and volunteers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying service enhancements, sharing feedback, and participating in ongoing professional development.
What you bring
- Diploma in Business Administration, hospitality, administrative information management, marketing, communications, or related fields
- 1-2 years in a customer-facing role, preferably in education, hospitality, or retail
- Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered
- Excellent written, verbal, and public-speaking communication skills
- Strong customer service, hospitality, and service-oriented mindset
- Exceptional organization, time management, and self-management abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a professional, positive attitude
