Position Description:
The customs analyst is responsible for verifying and processing customs documentation for immediate release. Must be able to work effectively while under pressure to meet deadlines and be able to work with other team members. There are some holidays that will be required to work.
Responsibilities
- Process release of shipments for highway and air electronically to CBSA as SWI
- Maintain the PARS email to transfer carrier requests for clearance into our operating system using our document management tool (when required)
- Process, assemble and present paper package releases to Canada Border Services Agency
- Manage the Teams outlook email
- Draft and send emails to clients and carriers for missing information for Customs release
- Manage inbound and outbound calls by phone
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift (1 unpaid lunch hour)
- Remote work from home
- Position 1:
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Noon-8pm.
- Position 2:
- Night Shift
- Tuesday-Saturday
- Midnight-8am
- 3+ years of experience
- Strong organization skills, able to prioritize work while keeping strict deadlines
- Attention to detail, able to handle large volumes of work with accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills with memory retention for all clients SOP/instructions
- Ability to read and understand Customs documentation
- Strong knowledge of the Customs tariff, regulations, and Customs act
- Experience handling Meat/Egg shipments, CFIA, multiple types of permits
- Experience with Air and Highway modes of transportation
- Self-motivated with proven ability to work without supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience with Descartes ITMR4 would be an asset
- CCS designation or enrolled would be ideal
