Data Analyst

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Data Analyst (Contract) in Moncton, NB. As a data analytics expert, you will play a key role within the Transformation team, enabling leaders to make informed, data-driven decisions that drive business performance and strategic outcomes. This position is responsible for ensuring stakeholders have access to timely, meaningful insights and the tools needed to translate data into action. As a trusted thought leader, you will champion the value of analytics across the organization, demonstrating how data can improve business results while coaching and empowering others to effectively leverage data, insights, and analytical tools in their decision-making.

• Data Architecture and visualization: develop and execute analytics to represent data in a format that provides insights to all areas of the business
• Act as the go-to data and analytics expert within the Transformation team, partnering with stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver impactful reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and business performance improvement.
• Identify and analyze errors and inconsistencies in data
• Drive process automation initiatives by envisioning, designing, and enabling solutions that optimize workflows, reduce manual effort, and support continuous business improvement.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to supervisors, leaders, and managers on the effective use of data, analytics, and reporting tools to support strategic planning and business performance.

• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related analytical role.
• Demonstrated expertise in analyzing complex data sets and translating findings into actionable business insights.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, opportunities, and solutions.
• Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives to deliver meaningful analyses and support data-driven decision-making.
• Experience developing and implementing reporting, visualization, and analytics solutions that drive business performance.
• Advanced troubleshooting and technical skills with the ability to solve complex business and data-related challenges.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience creating dashboards and data visualizations using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
• Power BI Certification is considered a strong asset.
