Position Highlights

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA) Team at ICBC is a small but mighty team, with an opening for a new DEIA Curriculum Advisor! ICBC launched its Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategic Action Plan in January 2023. Since then, the DEIA Team has introduced several foundational trainings and leadership programs on diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility related topics.

The DEIA Curriculum Advisor will support the delivery of existing trainings, lead needs analysis and development for future trainings, and act as a Subject Matter Expert in DEIA to review trainings by other departments within ICBC.

In this role, a typical day might involve:

• Analyzing training needs across different divisions using existing data, such as the employee engagement survey, and new methods like surveys or focus groups.


• Developing training curriculum to meet the needs of frontline staff who are interacting with customers with disabilities.


• Collaborating with the Organizational Learning team to design content for delivery.


• Co-ordinating the delivery of training programs and tracking completion.


• Facilitating workshops either in-person or virtually.


• Developing the educational plans, tools and resources necessary for people leaders to create inclusive environments for their teams.


• Evaluating existing programming to see how it can be improved.


• Consulting with other teams or Employee Resource Groups to support learning needs for their employees or members.


• Attending community of practice meetings where you will spend time sharing with others in similar roles.


• Attending conferences, workshops and webinars to keep current with the latest developments in the field.

You are:

You have:

• 3 or more years of experience in designing training programs, workshops or educational materials on diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, anti-racism, anti-oppression or social justice.


• Experience with instructional design or e-Learning design.


• An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; or a combination of both

Work arrangement defined: 

• Hybrid 8 – you will work a minimum of 8 days in a 4-week period at your primary office headquarters (typically 2 days per week). The remaining days will be remote within British Columbia.
