We are looking for a Class 5 Driver with Air Brake Endorsement to join our team. This role plays an important part in ensuring our products arrive safely, on time, and in excellent condition to customers across British Columbia and beyond.

This is a temporary position covering a Leave of Absence.  Coverage is currently required until August 31, 2026 with the possibility of working into a full time role, depending on business needs at that time. 

This is more than a driving position. You will be responsible for loading, securing, transporting, and delivering premium window and door products while providing exceptional service and representing Westeck professionally at customer sites. The role requires physical capability, strong attention to safety, and confidence driving in mountain and winter conditions.

What You'll Do

As a Class 5 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of Westeck products while supporting loading, unloading, and handling activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles requiring a Class 5 licence with Air Brake Endorsement


• Transport and deliver windows, doors, and related products to customers and job sites


• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and daily vehicle inspections


• Load, secure, and unload products to prevent damage during transport


• Verify shipments and delivery documentation for accuracy


• Ensure products are handled carefully and delivered in excellent condition


• Maintain compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards


• Navigate mountain highways and varying road conditions safely and confidently


• Operate effectively in winter driving conditions, including snow, ice, and reduced visibility


• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members


• Report vehicle maintenance concerns, incidents, or delivery issues promptly


• Assist with warehouse, shipping, and yard activities as required


• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe work environment

Required Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement


• Clean driver's abstract


• Previous commercial driving and delivery experience


• Demonstrated mountain & winter driving experience


• Strong commitment to safe work practices


• Excellent time management and organizational skills


• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on the road


• Strong communication and customer service skills


• Ability to think critically with a problem-solving mindset


• Ability to accurately complete delivery documentation


• Ability to travel for work, with occasional overnight stays as business needs arise

Assets

• Experience delivering building materials, windows, doors, or construction products


• Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment


• Experience working in manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, or logistics environments


• Knowledge of load securement best practices

Physical Requirements

This is a physically active role that requires:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and climbing


• Regular loading and unloading of products throughout the day


• The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs (34 kg)


• Safe handling of large, bulky, and fragile products


• Working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions


• Adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
