Dentists like to smile too! And there’s nothing that makes them happier than the support of their own dedicated professional association.

We’re the Ontario Dental Association (https://oda.ca/index.php) , and we represent over 90% of dentists in Ontario: advocating on their behalf to improve dentistry for both dentists and patients and keeping Ontarians smiling.

Working with other health-care professionals, governments, the private sector and the public, the ODA provides a wide range of services, resources and continuing education programs to support ODA dentists in their pursuit of professional excellence and personal fulfillment.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Dental Fee Guide Specialist. You’ll use your skills to provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should be adept in handling various forms of communication and be capable of navigating dental claims adjudication issues, including mediations, accurate claim form completion, administrative rule changes, and understanding dental plans.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will work with the Manager, ODA Suggested Fee Guides and practically speaking you will:

* Respond to a high-volume of telephone, e-mail and other written inquiries from member dentists, public, and insurance carriers, as they relate to clinical procedures and the use of the ODA Suggested Fee Guides.
* Respond to inquiries concerning electronic dental claims submission tools such as CDAnet and ITRANS.
* Support the creation, updating and distribution of department publications and reports.
* Provide support with the development and distribution of the ODA Suggested Fee Guides as required.
* Assist with the development of member resources including writing articles for the Association’s Ontario Dentist journal, member e-mail communications, member website and other resource documents while also liaising with the Communications team.
* Provides support to the Economics Advisory Committee, Task Forces and Working Groups as needed (arrange meetings, distribution/posting of meeting materials, minute taking, etc.).
* Collaborate as necessary with the Professional and Government Affairs department on matters related to procedure codes, dental office procedure expertise, claim form completion, various dental plans, technical advice, etc.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a knack for multitasking.

What you’ll bring

* Minimum 3 years chair-side assisting and 3 years dental office front desk experience
* Minimum 3 years working with Suggested Fee Guides (procedure code interpretation and use)
* Intermediate knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
* Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Zoom

** Dental claim adjudicator with insurance carrier or third-party administrator (TPA) is an asset
** Experience working in an administrative role is an asset
** Experience working for a non-profit organization is an asset

What we offer

This is a full-time, hybrid, permanent position, with daily work hours from 9am-5pm. In addition to a competitive salary, you’ll have access to a benefits plan that includes dental (of course!) as well as plenty of vacation days, personal days, and access to a health-spending account.

The ODA is proud to be one of the GTA’s Top Employers for 2024, our sixth year in a row! We think that says a lot about the culture and work environment we’ve built over the last 150+ years. We are all about growth and learning: every position in our organization offers both challenges and opportunities, and we encourage all our staff to establish themselves within and beyond their individual roles. Through our employee recognition program, we make sure that support and opportunity are always within reach.

How to Apply

Our online application will give you the option to apply to this role as a complete person, not just a resumé.
