Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

Location: Downtown Vancouver - Transcend Specialized Dentistry (925 W Georgia St)

Position Type: Starting Part-Time 1 day a week, with potential to add more days in the future

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (No evenings or weekends)

Salary Range: $70-85 per hour, depending on skills and performance

Qualifications:

- Current registration as a Dental Hygienist in British Columbia

- Certified in British Columbia to administer Local Anaesthesia

- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with periodontal patients

Required Technical Skills:

- Proficient in digital radiography

- Skilled in piezo-assisted debridement

- Expertise in subgingival scaling and root planing (SRP)

- Experienced in guided biofilm therapy (GBT) using Airflow technology

- Ability to perform thorough and careful debridement on patients with porcelain veneers

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with localized antimicrobial therapy (e.g., Arestin)

- Familiarity with laser-assisted periodontal therapy (LAPT)

- Experience working in a restorative focused / prosthodontic office is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive dental hygiene treatments for various patient needs:
  • Periodontal initial therapy, including deep debridement, scaling, and root planing
  • Working with periodontists for perio re-evaluations
  • Pre-prosthetic hygiene for optimal gingival health and oral hygiene
  • Post-restorative treatment maintenance
  • Maintenance of good oral hygiene for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment
• Utilize advanced techniques such as guided biofilm therapy and air polishing
• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Collaborate closely with prosthodontists, periodontists, and orthodontists
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Stay current with the latest advancements in dental hygiene practices
• Maintain an organized and clean work environment, assisting with sterilization and room turn over between patients
