Deputy Academics Commissioner (Events; x2)

Honorarium Position

Overview

The Deputy Academics Commissioner (Events) shall assist the Academics Commissioner and adhere to and follow official ASUS policy as found in this manual and as interpreted by Council and Assembly. The Deputy Academics Commissioner (Events) is responsible to the Academics Commissioner.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term: May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours: 10 hours per week

Honorarium: Awarded based on the Honorarium Grid in the Human Resources Policy (Click here)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Academics Commissioner in planning and executing academic events throughout orientation week and the academic year, including conferences, speaker panels, and majors education fairs.
  • Review and approve Event Planning Packages (EPP) to approve DSC events.
  • Hold bi-weekly check-ins with DSC co-presidents jointly with the Deputy Academics Commissioner (DSC Finance).
  • Attend DSC Assembly and Major's Night.
  • Provide regular updates to the Academics Commissioner on event progress.
  • Hold a minimum of five (5) office hours per week.
  • Be a member of and attend weekly meetings with the Academics Core Team.
