Honorarium Position

Overview

The Deputy Equity Commissioner (Committees) shall assist the Equity Commissioner in providing a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for all students and in educating the Queen’s community on topics of equity and social justice. Throughout the year, the Deputy Commissioner will be expected to work internally to the Equity Commission and assist the committees with budgeting, event planning, and various projects.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term: May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours: 5-6 hours per week

Honorarium: Awarded based on the Honorarium Grid in the Human Resources Policy (Click here)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the hiring of the Equity Commissioner Chairs
• Meet weekly with the Equity Commissioner
• Meet with Chairs on a regular basis with the Equity Commissioner for the purposes of updating each other on progress, problem areas and future plans
• Assist the Equity Commissioner and the Equity Commission committees in the promotion of events and initiatives
