Are you looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join our Subway Track team!
As a Design Engineer, you will provide engineering expertise to assess the condition of the subway track network and develop solutions that ensure safe, reliable, and efficient track systems in line with maintenance standards. You will review existing track designs and components, design or re‑engineer track systems, develop technical specifications for track‑related projects, and conduct condition surveys and root‑cause assessments.
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and producing detailed design work to support the procurement and delivery of materials for programmed track rehabilitation. You will also ensure the timely distribution of preliminary and final design drawings required to meet construction schedules.
In addition, you will be responsible for determining existing field conditions by reviewing total station survey data, existing drawings, and specifications, and gathering any additional information needed for the preparation of engineering drawings. You will develop conceptual, preliminary, and final detailed drawings for track work systems and components, including complex special trackwork, using both established standards and new design concepts.
You will also coordinate draft persons and assigned design staff in preparing technical data, estimates, drawings, and specifications. Furthermore, you will provide design support in the evaluation and selection of design concepts, the analysis of technical information, and the production of design documentation for track system projects.
Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing technical data and preparing technical drawings and specifications related to the design, procurement, construction, and maintenance of subway track systems. This includes developing technical specifications for the supply of track components and track‑related construction projects.
You will undertake studies of track maintenance practices to identify opportunities for improving performance or reducing costs. You will also assess problem areas to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions. As part of this work, you will develop reports on design options, maintenance issues, and project estimates.
Finally, you will analyze and evaluate tenders submitted by suppliers and provide recommendations for award. You will also review shop drawings and conduct inspection and approval of track materials to ensure compliance with design requirements.
