Description

Play a critical role in bringing Canada's most complex shipbuilding projects to life. As a Detail Planning Scheduler, you will be at the heart of project execution, developing and maintaining detailed schedules that keep work progressing safely, efficiently, and on time. Partnering closely with Production Planners and cross-functional teams, you'll provide key insights into project health, proactively identify scheduling risks, and drive solutions that keep milestones on track. Responsibilities
  • Utilize contract documentation and estimating work/material sheets to create the project schedule.
  • Ensure schedule budgets are maintained to accurately match project contracts as the scope of work evolves to include cancellations, adjustments, and increases in scope of work.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Team Lead, Planning Team, Project Manager, and QC to ensure activity breakdown, logic sequence, and inspection points are accurately maintained in the project schedule.
  • Provide schedule specific support to the Planning, Production Controls, and Project Controls teams.
  • Daily maintenance of the Project Schedule with input from Production, Planning, Production Controls and QC to ensure the current progress of the project is accurately represented. 
  • Provide periodic efficiency, schedule health, and forecast reports to the Production, Program, QC, Project Controls and Accounting teams.


Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree; preferably in a technical, engineering, or related discipline.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation considered an asset.
    • Trade Certificate or Red Seal is considered an asset.
  • 2-5 years of planning or trade work experience, preferably in a naval shipbuilding or repair environment.
  • Experience using Primavera P6, MS Excel, Aveva, or AutoCAD would be considered an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of naval repair methods considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret work breakdowns to implement a project schedule. 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

 

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
