POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a key role in the product development cycle for the Nano Accessories Product Group  at Hitachi High-Tech Canada. Responsibilities will include mechanical, electrical and software design, collaborating together with sales engineering, product development, assembly, manufacturing and participating in project management. Successful candidate is expected to be a quick learner.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Design & Development: Creating new software and/or products and improving existing ones.
•    Manufacturing: draft specifications for mechanical and electrical assembly.
•    Testing & Implementation: Conducting experiments, testing prototypes, fine-tuning designs and overseeing project execution. 
•    Planning & Documentation: Preparing detailed reports, drawings, specifications, budgets, and overall project management.
•    Collaboration: Working with team members, clients, contractors, and other professionals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

•    4-year degree or diploma from an accredited university or college
•    Minimum of three years’ related product engineering, QA and design experience required
•    Knowledge of QA procedures – certification is required
•    Software certification is preferred 
    

SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIREMENTS)

•    Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
•    Proficient in programming in Java, C and Python 
•    Familiarity with specialized engineering software (e.g. SolidWorks)
•    Good verbal and written English communication skills
•    Knowledge of industry, customer base, and products
•    Requisite presentation skills
