DIABETES EDUCATOR - REGISTERED NURSE

(REGULAR PART TIME)

POSITION OVERVIEW:

One (1) regular part time position is available within the Diabetes program at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. This position will be responsible for comprehensive diabetes nursing care as established by the standards of nursing practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and according to policies and procedures as set out by Groves Memorial Community Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:       

• Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence;


• BScN is an asset;


• Membership in RNAO


• Experience in Diabetes Education


• Certified Diabetes Educator


• Knowledge of the principles of Adult Education and Chronic Disease Management


• Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written;


• Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills;


• Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member;


• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities;


• Satisfactory performance and attendance required


• Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date


• Must provide proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired

SALARY: $40.41 to $57.72 per hour

HOURS OF WORK: As per department schedule
