In this role you will act as the Digital Manufacturing Lead for the INNIO Waukesha - Welland Facility working with the operations and technical teams to build out the overall digital strategy for the site. Develop and execute detailed plans to deliver the right digital tools to maximize business output potential.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage an ambitious 3-year Digital manufacturing growth plan while acting as the sole point of responsibility for developing, managing, reporting and executing on multiple digital projects throughout the facility
Analyze manufacturing process workflows and assist with developing equipment connection strategies using various industrial communication protocols such as MQTT, Rest API, Profinet, etc.
Collaborate with controls engineers and IT specialists in a team environment to deliver value-added solutions
Identify opportunities for automation implementation and AI adoption to further enhance manufacturing process efficiency
Develop strategies to automate machine/process control leveraging existing Andon and MES systems
Support Q-case RCA investigations using digitally acquired data while optimizing data mining capabilities and data output configurations
Document process changes by following established Management of Change policies & procedures
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by voluntarily attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, networking, participating in professional societies, and attending technology trade shows
Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Bachelor’s degree, or Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Science diploma (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering or related industrial experience
Lean Six Sigma or equivalent training
Knowledge of and practical experience with various PLC and control systems (Siemens, Fanuc, Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.)
Solid understanding of Networking and Data Communications
Knowledgeable with SQDCM manufacturing principles
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience with C/C++, Node Red, and various other industrial communication protocols (MQTT, Rest API, Profinet, etc.)
Experience with Oracle ERP or similar software for managing process workflows and process data management
