In order to support the engineering expertise and the execution of mechanical projects, the ideal candidate will be responsible for a team of approximately 15 people and will lead mechanical projects for our Industrial team in the Energy and Resources sector in Montreal. With several years of experience in the industrial environment, the incumbent will assume a leadership position with respect to achieving business objectives. The person will also be responsible for mobilizing the teams in the execution and delivery of large-scale multidisciplinary projects in mining and metals, paper and pulp, as well as other heavy industrial projects, while supporting the growth of the expertise within the sector. This position offers career progression opportunities and the possibility of acquiring shares in the Company.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead a team in executing multiple mandates or large-scale projects
• Provide mentorship for less-experienced resources while sharing relevant knowledge
• Act as technical reference in the industrial and automation sector and find solutions for more complex engineering challenges
• Act as liaison with clients to track project progress, ensuring that their opinions and requests are taken into consideration
• Ensure continuous monitoring of its employees working on clients’ premises, with respect to compliance with health and safety standards
• Provide timely support in the review and accuracy of drawings and specifications, testing plans and engineering designs
• Ensure liaison with other internal disciplines for timely delivery and production according to established deadlines and priorities
• Work closely with clients to resolve all project related issues including technical requests, completion, and budget requests
• Perform contractual follow-ups, write amendments, and monitor the financial progress of contracts
• Ensure sustainable growth of its team

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or considerable experience in automation
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• Significant experience in a heavy industrial environment
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in financial concepts and budget monitoring
• Proven project management skills
• Negotiation skills
