Job Description - Director, Investor Relations

The Company

InvestX was launched in 2014 with a mission to bring transparency and trust to the private equity market. We are a leading cross-border pre-IPO investor offering access to private equity deals that, for many decades, were exclusive to a limited investing population.

With over US$500 million in investments and 80+ portfolio companies, we work with leading North American registered firms to offer accredited investors private equity investment opportunities in companies including Open AI, Anthropic, SpaceX, Airbnb, SoFi, Spotify, DocuSign, and many more. We have successfully launched multiple SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles) and diversified funds and are currently investing in our fifth fund.

InvestX is backed by leading financial institutions Jefferies, Virtu Financial, and Canaccord Genuity and has been featured in CNBC, Forbes, Bloomberg, U.S. News, Business Insider, Reuters, The Globe and Mail, and many other publications.

About the Role

We are seeking a high-performing Director, Investor Relations to build and scale InvestX’s direct-to-investor channel across Canada.

This role is focused on owning and growing relationships with accredited investors, driving capital raising efforts, and building a repeatable engine for direct distribution. You will inherit an existing book of direct investors, with a clear mandate to re-engage, deepen relationships, and grow assets under management, while continuing to originate new investor relationships. While the role may require engaging with advisors in the wealth management distribution channel, the primary focus is on building the direct investor channel.

You are a self-starter with strong commercial instincts—someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, knows how to build trust with sophisticated investors, and can move seamlessly between presentations, client engagement, and hands-on execution.

This is a highly visible role with direct impact on firm growth, offering the opportunity to help shape how private market opportunities are brought to individual investors in Canada.

Location:

  • Vancouver, BC (hybrid – 3 days in-office), remote in Canada possible for the right candidate.

Key Accountabilities:

Direct Investor Origination & Relationship Management

  • Build, develop, and manage a pipeline of accredited investors across Canada.

  • Drive end-to-end investor lifecycle: sourcing, onboarding, capital raising, and retention.

  • Establish long-term relationships with high-net-worth and sophisticated investors.

Capital Raising & Sales Execution

  • Lead direct outreach campaigns (calls, meetings, events) to generate investment opportunities.

  • Consistently raise and retain assets under management within your territory.

  • Own and execute against individual sales targets and KPIs.

Investor Education & Product Positioning

  • Deliver compelling presentations on InvestX’s private market offerings and value proposition.

  • Clearly articulate complex investment strategies in a way that resonates with individual investors.

  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding investors through private market opportunities.

Territory Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute a direct distribution strategy for Canada.

  • Identify market opportunities, investor segments, and growth channels.

  • Continuously refine outreach and conversion strategies to improve efficiency and results.

Pipeline & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate records of investor interactions and pipeline activity in Salesforce.

  • Track performance metrics and provide insights on investor trends and behaviours.

Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, product, and broader distribution teams to align messaging and campaigns.

  • Support firm-wide initiatives to enhance the investor experience and brand presence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • Minimum 4 years of financial services Sales experience.

  • Private equity, alternative investment, equity trading and/or wealth management experience is an asset.

  • Knowledge of or experience in securing product selling agreements with direct investors and Broker/Dealers.

  • Highly and self-motivated to build relationships and close sales.

  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) with sound interpersonal and team building skills.

  • You are passionate and have a strong desire to grow and succeed.

  • Ability to prioritize activities, meet deadlines and work under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

  • Must be actively licensed and registered with the BC Securities Commission (BSC), or any other Provincial Regulator, and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA).

  • Eligibility to travel between the US and Canada to attend meetings; ability to travel as needed.

  • A Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is  for this position.

Salary & Benefits

  • Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, location and qualifications for the role.

  • 2026 range is $110,000 - $130,000 CAD plus incentive plan and equity.

  • Comprehensive Health & Benefit plan.

If this opportunity sounds like it is a good match with your skills, background, and career direction, please apply through our Careers Page (https://www.investx.com/careers/) with your cover letter and resume.

InvestX welcomes applications from all qualified candidates, including women, persons with disabilities, aboriginal peoples, indigenous peoples, visible minorities, race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
