In this role you’ll:
- Join the Capital Markets team at Wealthsimple Investments Inc. (Wealthsimple's in-house broker/dealer)
- Lead and supervise a team of experienced traders
- Work closely with engineering teams to build or modify trading strategies or backend setups of new products
- Help design the back-end of new asset types coming to market and set up the execution process for these new asset types
- Work with product teams to modify and enhance product specifications to meet client demand
- Identify operational improvements to improve productivity and efficiency for trading processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across Wealthsimple
- Be responsible for overseeing risk and meeting compliance requirements across all of our trading processes

Requirements
- CSC, CPH, DFOL (or DFC) mandatory
- Investment Dealer Supervisors Course (IDSC) and/or Canadian Commodities Supervision Exam an asset
- 10+ years of trading experience
- Experience trading equities, ETFs, futures and options
- Knowledgeable in index rebalancing
- Experience leading a team
- Experience building access to new asset types from scratch
- Experience with automated trading solutions and inventory management strategies
- Experience with building out back office operational capabilities
- Experience in coding trading strategies or working with engineer teams to do so
- Analytical experience with Excel and SQL
- Solution focused
- Passionate about technology and finding new AI solutions
