Director of Governance

As Director of Governance your main responsibilities are:

- Overseeing the elections team including the CEO, CRO, and DRO

- Overseeing the awards selection and nominations for the annual EngSoc Banquet

- Helping individuals and affiliated groups who have questions about EngSoc policy

- Working with teams to revise and update policy

- Working with the Speaker to run biweekly EngSoc council

- Preparing the Council Agenda and collecting motions, reports, and presentations

To be the Director of Governance, you should be organized, passionate about systemic processes, equity, and student engagement, and excited to run elections!

Some highlights of this job include:

- Working with many people on complex problems

- The opportunity to work closely with the ED team and better understand the Engineering Society, as well as help decide its future direction

- Gaining experience hiring and working with many teams

- Gaining valuable leadership experience

- Making lasting connections with other people involved in EngSoc

- Exploring and innovating methods of elections and student engagement

- Generating knowledge on best practices that allow for better operations of the Society
