This is a unique opportunity to build a modern, high-impact fundraising program in a rural health context, deepening relationships with donors, partners, and the community to advance healthcare equity. This role is ideal for a builder, someone excited by the opportunity to shape and grow a developing foundation function with strong organizational support and significant community impact potential.

Foundation Operations

  • Strengthen Foundation governance, working closely with the Board/Advisory Committee

  • Develop systems, processes, and tools to support sustainable fundraising growth

  • Oversee donor database and ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance

Communications & Community Engagement

  • Collaborate on storytelling and communications that highlight impact and inspire giving

  • Act as an ambassador for WCHC and the Foundation in the community

  • Increase visibility of the Foundation and its mission across the region

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of progressive experience in fundraising, development, or philanthropy

  • Proven success in major gift development and donor relationship management

  • Strong understanding of nonprofit and/or healthcare fundraising environments

  • Demonstrated ability to build strategy and execute independently

  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills

  • Experience working with boards, volunteers, and community stakeholders

  • Knowledge of rural communities and health equity is a strong asset

Core Competencies

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset

  • High emotional intelligence and relationship focus

  • Results-oriented with a track record of achieving fundraising goals

Why Join WCHC

  • Make a meaningful impact on rural health and health equity

  • Build and shape a growing Foundation function
