Job Description - Director Sales and Operations

Job Description

Reporting to the Vice-President Retail for the PENN. Penningtons brand, the Director Sales & Operations is accountable for driving profitable in-store retail sales for over 80 retail locations across Canada.

You accomplish this through the leadership you provide to a team of District Sales Managers as well your ability to partner cross-functionally with the brand headoffice team in support of strategic initiatives that advance the company’s growth objectives and propel the brand into the future. In this key leadership role, you will demonstrate your passion and enthusiasm about building relationships, and your commitment to nurture the customer and employee experience.

We are seeing this role based out of Ontario or Quebec to regularly conduct store visits across the country as well as visit our headoffice in Montreal.

RESPONISIBILITIES:

  • Lead and Inspire: Coach and advise District Sales Managers, providing guidance to help them achieve their business goals and quarterly results. Engage in conversations that inspire, challenge, and develop their skills and confidence.
  • Champion In-Store Experience: Be the voice for the retail field, influencing and partnering cross-functionally on initiatives that elevate and modernize our brand.
  • Drive Performance: Create a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations, analyzing store performance, and holding teams accountable. Provide timely and constructive feedback.
  • Enhance Productivity: Conduct store visits to evaluate performance, develop solutions to increase productivity, workflow, and profitability, and ensure a best-in-class consumer and associate experience.
  • Deliver Divisional Objectives: Ensure alignment with divisional goals by formulating and implementing strategies that drive operational objectives and support the overall growth of the brand.

Qualifications

KEY REQUIREMENTS

We are looking to bring onboard a leader with the passion, innovation and progressive retail knowledge that will guide us to where we are going and growing.

 

  • Educational Background: College degree in business, fashion marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years in district or national level retail leadership.
  • Track Record: Proven success in elevating the customer experience and delivering profitable growth.
  • Results-Driven: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead by example and inspire teams to excel.
  • Communication: Strong communicator capable of engaging with teams across Canada (French is an asset).
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time across Canada.
