Dispatch Manager

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Dispatch Manager for our Concord Terminal. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the successful candidate will lead a high-performing dispatch team while ensuring exceptional service, operational efficiency, and safe, compliant transportation operations.

• Lead and oversee the terminal's 24/7 dispatch operation, ensuring service, safety, and operational objectives are achieved.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and schedule dispatch personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Manage daily pickup and delivery operations to ensure customer commitments are met efficiently and cost effectively.
• Optimize driver, equipment, and route utilization to maximize productivity and achieve budget and service targets.
• Monitor key operational KPIs including on-time performance, service levels, equipment utilization, and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, Hours of Service requirements, safety standards, and company policies.
• Collaborate with Customer Service, Dock Operations, Sales, and Linehaul teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Oversee staffing plans, vacation scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure operational coverage.
• Support employee performance management activities, including coaching, development planning, and performance reviews.
• Investigate operational challenges, identify process improvements, and implement solutions that improve service, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. 

• 5+ years of transportation dispatch experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or a related operational environment.
• Strong knowledge of dispatch operations, fleet utilization, transportation regulations, and safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with transportation management systems and AS400 is considered an asset.
• Post-secondary education in Business, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field is considered an asset.
