Job Duties:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Draftsperson to join our design and construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for residential building projects, including new homes, renovations, and additions. You will collaborate closely with the design team and clients to ensure that all plans meet design intent, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D architectural drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD).

• Translate sketches, concepts, and specifications into working construction documents.

• Design floor systems, floor plans, elevations, sections, and site plans for residential projects.

• Ensure all drawings comply with local building codes, zoning laws, and council regulations.

• Work with clients and to revise plans as needed throughout the design and approval process.

• Maintain accurate and organized documentation and drawing files

• Office-based on location.

• Occasional site visits may be required

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in residential drafting.

• Formal education in this field is an asset, but not a requirement. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in the drafting field.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or similar drafting software.

• Understanding of building codes, standards, and construction methods.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans

Soft Skills:

• Strong ability to build customer relationship and establish trust and strong working rapport.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

• Strong time management skills.

• Problem-solving mindset with a collaborative approach
