Job Description

CEDA is currently seeking a Class 1, 45 Ton Picker Truck Operator for our Bonnyville, AB location.

Candidates must be local to the area, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain picker trucks and/or boom trucks.
Haul, load, and off-load equipment.
Understand and obey all provincial and federal highway rules and regulations.
Ensure equipment meets operation and safety requirements.
Practice proper legal load securement.
Take part in all safety meetings.
Operate company vehicles and equipment in a professional, safe and courteous manner.
Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip, inspections, job reports, logbook, and safety documents.
Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements.
Work as part of a team and follow directions from supervision.

Requirements

Valid class 1 licence – Current 3-year abstract required (with no more than 5 demerits in last 2 years).
Journeyman Picker Truck Certification would be an asset.
Driving a manual transmission is in your nature, you will pass CEDA’s driver assessment with flying colours.
Minimum 4-5 years of experience operating a picker truck.
Willing to get your CSO certification.
Must have a valid H2S Alive certificate.
Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
Able to travel throughout Alberta (flexibility in schedule is required).

Skills:

Strong mechanical aptitude.
You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment.
Perform physically demanding work (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis).
Enjoy working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Able to plan and organize tasks meeting deadlines with high performance.
