E&I Coordinator
Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Wage/Salary Range: Competitive compensation based on experience (15–30+ years); overtime eligible in accordance with project requirements
Shift Schedule: Day and Night Shift rotations available
Hours Per Day: 10–12 hours per day based on project schedule

Job Overview:
GrizzlyTrek is currently seeking one E&I Coordinator to join our Valued Clients team on-site at a major industrial project in Edmonton starting April 2026. This is a full-time, long-term position, ideally suited to an experienced field leader committed to excellence, safety, and execution performance in complex industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee all Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) construction activities from execution through commissioning and startup.
Interface with engineering, construction, commissioning teams, vendors, subcontractors, and operations to ensure seamless project delivery.
Support and oversee LV, MV, and HV power distribution systems, substations, EHT, temporary power, instrumentation and controls, and DCS/SIS systems.
Lead and support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including loop checks, cause and effect (C&E) testing, deficiency management, and system readiness verification.
Review and redline drawings, track and resolve deficiencies, and manage system turnover and handover documentation to Operations.
Coordinate work sequencing, schedule integration, and constraint management to maintain cost and schedule targets.
Monitor field progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues impacting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.
Ensure compliance with QA/QC standards, regulatory codes, client requirements, and corporate safety programs.
Provide leadership and mentorship to junior coordinators, supervisors, and craft personnel.
Deliver regular project updates to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
15–30+ years of progressive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation roles within large industrial projects ($50MM to multi-billion-dollar scope).
Trade certification as a Journeyman Electrician or Instrument Technician preferred, with career progression through supervisory and coordination roles.
Extensive hands-on and coordination experience with power distribution (LV, MV, HV), substations, EHT, temporary power, and shutdowns/turnarounds.
Strong knowledge of instrumentation and controls, DCS/SIS systems, loop checks, C&E testing, commissioning, and startup processes.
Proven experience working with EPC contractors, owner teams, subcontractors, and multiple craft groups.
Demonstrated safety leadership in high-risk industrial E&I environments.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and cost control.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) or structured workface planning.
Previous experience in large-scale industrial facilities in oil and gas, mining, or heavy construction sectors.
Experience supporting projects with strong safety performance records.
Work Environment:
This position is site-based at an active industrial construction project in Edmonton. The role requires regular field presence in high-risk environments, including construction sites, module yards, and potential shutdown/turnaround activities. Candidates must be comfortable working extended hours and rotating day/night shifts.
