POSITION SCOPE:

The Early Childhood Educator Assistant will support Families with culturally based learning opportunities promoting Atikameksheng Anishnawbek values. The Early Childhood Educator Assistant under the direction of the Supervisor works closely with all employees in the organization to plan and develop age-appropriate programs to enhance the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional develop according to Organization’s program statement and philosophy and the Child Care Early Years Act, using Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT), and How Does Learning Happen?.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education;
  
  
  
  • CYW, EA, OCT, DSW, SSW or any relevant post- secondary education combined with demonstrated experience working with children ages 0-12.
  
  
  
  


• In good standing with the college of Early Childhood Educators if applicable.


• Fluency or knowledge of/in Anishinaabemowin is an asset

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement Early Learning Programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children


• Assist classroom RECEs in program delivery and other various tasks


• Attend conferences, training, and meetings to remain current with information on Early Learning.


• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children


• Work with and support the endeavors of the Drop In / Play Group for Early Years ages 0-6


• Assist with daily attendance and communication records.
