As an Early Childhood Educator with YMCA Child Care, you will create nurturing, play-based learning experiences that support children’s growth, curiosity, and development while building meaningful partnerships with families and a collaborative team. Every day, you’ll help shape positive early childhood experiences that set the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.


 


Quick Facts 



  • Compensation: $21.48 per hour, plus as part of Government's Early Care and Learning Recruitment and Retention Strategy, Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) working in licensed childcare facilities are eligible to receive a $6 per hour wage enhancement

    • Paid vacation, wellness, and family responsibility days

    • Extended health and dental benefits

    • Membership to Y facilities for self and family

    • Annual Y pension of 5% (after 2 years)



  • Reporting to: Manager, Child Care

  • Location: Dilworth Mountain YMCA Child Care Centre

  • Schedule: Full-Time, 30-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday


This role is ideal for an adaptable, passionate Early Childhood Educator who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and families, and is committed to delivering high-quality, play-based learning experiences across multiple childcare settings.


 


What You Will Do 


In this role you will plan and deliver engaging play-based learning experiences, support children’s development and well-being, collaborate with families and colleagues, and maintain high-quality care and licensing standards.



  • Create engaging, play-based learning environments that support children’s growth, development, and well-being.

  • Build positive relationships with children and families to foster trust, belonging, and meaningful engagement.

  • Deliver responsive learning experiences that reflect children’s interests, strengths, and developmental needs.

  • Collaborate with families and colleagues to provide consistent, high-quality care and support across multiple childcare settings.

  • Adapt to diverse classrooms, age groups, and environments while maintaining an exceptional experience for children.

  • Promote safe, inclusive, and nurturing spaces where children can learn, explore, and thrive.


 


What You Bring 



  • Valid British Columbia Early Childhood Educator (ECE) License to Practice.

  • Valid First Aid Certificate with CPR Level B or C.

  • Minimum age of 19 years, in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
