We are seeking a detail-oriented and operationally excellent eCommerce Associate to support the day-to-day execution of SMYTHE's digital channel. Reporting to the Head of eCommerce, this role is the operational backbone of the ecommerce business — responsible for site execution, product data management, order operations, and systems monitoring. You are a hands-on doer who takes ownership of the details that keep the site running smoothly, accurately, and on-brand.
You Will:
Product Data & Site Content
Upload, enrich, and maintain product information in Shopify, including copy, metafields, imagery, swatches, and supporting content.
Manage the product data flow from NetSuite to Shopify via Celigo — ensuring all required fields are completed, workflows are triggered correctly, and discrepancies are flagged and resolved.
Support updates to product and inventory data flows in partnership with technical partners, including pricing field updates and new metafield additions.
Develop and maintain product copy by consolidating inputs from Marketing, Buying, and Creative into a single source of truth.
Feed return and customer feedback insights into product copy updates, including sizing and fit callouts.
Shopify Site Execution & Merchandising
Execute end-to-end product launches in Shopify, including homepage placement, collection assignment, and activation of live products.
Manage and optimize on-site search and discovery, including configuration updates for new product drops, email campaigns, and monitoring of zero-result search queries.
Implement and QA homepage modules, lookbook pages, and seasonal landing page updates in partnership with Marketing.
Align product sort order for New Arrivals and PLPs in collaboration with the Ecommerce Manager and Buying team.
Perform regular site QA to identify and resolve product, content, and functionality issues.
Manage pre-order inventory setup when replenishment stock is allocated to the US warehouse.
Perform first-level troubleshooting of Shopify apps and platform issues, escalating as needed.
Orders, Returns, Refunds & Chargebacks
Process refunds related to shipment issues, shortages, damages, and lost or stolen parcels.
Manage and dispute ecommerce chargebacks, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Process and coordinate returns related to damaged items, including order updates and resolution follow-through.
Sort and manage damaged returned ecommerce products for dry cleaning, repairs, or damaged stock allocation.
Maintain and update the centralized returns tracker on a biweekly cadence.
Support retail stores with order issues, shipping configuration changes, and related operational requests.
Systems & Integration Monitoring
Monitor integration workflows daily and resolve routine errors, escalating complex issues to the Ecommerce Manager or technical partners.
Perform manual order and inventory corrections in NetSuite when automation failures occur, including RMAs, Item Receipts, and Credit Memos.
Validate third-party integrations to ensure accurate order and data ingestion across systems.
Execute testing and validation for system changes and new integration rollouts, following protocols set by the Ecommerce Manager.
Pricing & Promotional Execution
Execute promotional pricing updates during sale periods using Shopify bulk editing tools.
Ensure pricing logic integrity — including final sale flags and restriction rules — is applied accurately and on schedule.
Support the implementation and maintenance of the product tagging framework to improve reporting accuracy and order segmentation.
You Have:
1–3 years of ecommerce experience, ideally within fashion, apparel, or luxury retail.
Proficiency with Shopify or Shopify Plus, including product management, collections, metafields, and the Shopify admin — Shopify certification is a strong asset.
Experience with NetSuite ERP and Celigo for order and inventory data management, including manual RMA and credit memo creation.
Familiarity with ecommerce integrations and third-party platform workflows.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines without errors.
Comfort working within operational systems and a clear instinct for when to resolve issues independently versus escalate.
Experience with on-site search and merchandising tools is an asset.
Strong written communication skills with an eye for brand-consistent copy and product content.
A self-starter mindset — you take ownership of the details that keep the business running.
