Educational Assistant (EA)

The Educational Assistant (EA) is a ten (10) month contractual employee paid in twenty-six (26) equal biweekly installments. This role requires annual ratification by Chief and Band Council and operates under the direction of School Administration.

The Educational Assistant supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural development under the direction of the classroom teacher and school administration. The EA contributes to a safe, respectful, and culturally responsive learning environment.

The Educational Assistant (EA) shall:

• Support individual students and small groups with assigned learning activities


• Assist in the implementation of lesson plans under teacher direction


• Support students with diverse learning, behavioural, or medical needs


• Assist in implementing IEPs and support plans


• Reinforce classroom routines and positive behaviour strategies


• Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and assigned times


• Prepare and organize instructional materials and classroom resources


• Encourage student independence while providing appropriate support


• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information


• Be prepared to assume complete responsibility of classroom

This competition will close at 12:00pm (noon) on Tuesday, June 23rd with interviews being held Wednesday, June 24th.
